MISSION & HISTORY.
Founded in 1961, the Utah High School Rodeo Association (UHSRA) was established to promote the sport of rodeo among Utah’s youth while fostering strong values of sportsmanship, leadership, and horsemanship. As a proud affiliate of the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA), UHSRA provides junior high and high school students with the opportunity to compete in rodeo events across the state, develop lifelong skills, and build friendships rooted in western heritage.
The mission of UHSRA is to preserve and promote the traditions of rodeo while encouraging personal growth, responsibility, and community involvement. Through competition and camaraderie, students gain experience in the arena and beyond — learning lessons in teamwork, perseverance, and integrity that last well past their rodeo careers. UHSRA is dedicated to creating a supportive environment that values hard work, fairness, and the western way of life.
Over the years, UHSRA has grown into one of the most respected rodeo associations in the nation. Supported by dedicated volunteers, families, and student-athletes, the association continues to honor its traditions while preparing young competitors for success—both in the arena and in life.
